Placed an order for a Mn 91/30 Sniper today
I decided to pick up one of the repros sold by SOG. I was going to order an older hex receiver when I saw them on sale in their most recent catalog I got today - but couldn't find them listed on the web site. So, I placed the order for the round receiver version and added a note asking for a hex if they have any left.
I'll post pictures when it arrives!!

Hi Mark,
Long time no see. Glad to see you back on WRF!
I was SO tempted to pick a repro sniper up recently... but I resisted. I am eager to see what you receive, and to hear a review!

Order went from "Pending" to "Processing" today. Probably wont see it until next week, though.

Keep us informed, Mark! I'm interested to see how the optics are on it!

Re: Placed an order for a Mn 91/30 Sniper today
If I was going to pick up a 91 Sniper I would try to find one with the C or CH marking on the receiver indicating an original rifle that was a sniper. I've seen a couple of them come in the the recent ones that have come in. Of course the optics were repros.

Beautiful sniper!! I toyed with getting an original - RGuns has some it has been selling. But, I opted to go with one of the recent builds coming out of Ukraine through SOG.
Not sure what I'll get, but doubt it will be an ex-sniper. I've heard that most of the ex-snipers have had the tap holes filled - I see them all the time on Gunbroker.
I would imagine it will ship this week. Pics to follow.

Re: Placed an order for a Mn 91/30 Sniper today
Thank you! It shoots great too, very accurate! The reason people say not to buy post war rebuilds is because the scopes & mounts are not made to fit the rifles like the originals. For example, mine has a seperate serial number on the left side of the receiver and that same number is on the scope, showing that that scope and mount were made for that rifle and that rifle only. The reason they do this is so the scope reticle is centered when you sight in. As you may or may not know with PU scopes just the reticle moves rather than the whole scope like modern ones, so if your scope mount is not properly milled for the rifle you may end up with a reticle way to one side of the scope once you sight in. On the other hand though, I know plenty of people with new build PU rifles that sight in just fine!
Good luck with yours I've ordered from SOG several times. Their shipping is usually pretty quick.
