I really don't think that would be a very wise thing to do regardless of what the law says. I would suspect that questions may be asked why someone would want a sawn-off shotgun of ANY type. We have to try and be sensible about what we collect, the hobby gets enough bad press as it is.

No guys listen to ADE
messing around with Deac's is bad news, as making a sawn of shotgun while its still live, and then having it Deac'd and submitting it for proofing. I would strongly recommend that this subject is not discussed any further on here, the laws regarding replica's and Deac's have become quite draconian but still workable for the moment, topics like this just add fuel to the "Ban everything mob" which surf sites like this for ammo* for there cause

Top class mate,
I thought it was a picture of mine for a second LOL. I see you've even fitted a Bronze bolt, so the Mk1* replica club now has three members world wide . My one has now been over at the museum for about three years, and no I've still not been back over, I just don't get the time these days

More than three members now. I have made four of them but I always keep the first one. The others have visible screws at the muzzle like the originals.
I know this isnt really related to what this thread is about, but do you have any pictures of an SVT40 Carbine? I've suddenly taken a massive interest in the weapon
EDIT: forget that, sorry just had another search and found plenty of pics, I didnt realise at first that they were field made as they look to have been built that way in the first place.
Thanks
Danny
