Nice looking rifle. I do agree it looks similar to the SKS, and a Gewehr-43.

An Egyptian rifle-rare, only 8,000 made-essentially the Hakim rifle in 7.92mm x 57 (itself a copy of the Swedish 6.5mm Ljungman AG-42) redesigned for the 7.62mm x 39 round-the Egyptians began to get large amounts of Soviet equipment from the late 50s on so at first they changed ammo then they abandoned making their own designs in favour of AKM copies (the Maadi).
