    Default Smith & Wesson Model 1 1/2

Here is a nice Smith & Wesson "New Model - 1 1/2". Today is it's sale date from the S&W factory.
I got it about 6 years ago at a militaria show. The previous owner requested information about it
from S&W, and they replied with a letter, now in my possession with the gun.
The revolver still has about 95% nickel plating.

It is a .32 rimfire with a 3 1/2 inch barrel and rosewood grips, which are mentioned in the letter.
They were made from 1868 until 1875, with 100,800 produced. This one was sold
on March 28 1874 to "R.H. Kilby Co. Montreal, Canada".

These are beautiful little pistols !

Nice mate, I've got one too, no where near as nice as yours and its missing a major part, I doubt I'll ever find a replacement part. Its serial number is 89405, I dont suppose the letter you have has a contact detail for finding out where my gun was sold to (Its in the UK now)

    Cheers, Chris.

    Hi, Chris,

Nice piece - every bit as good as mine ! !

Yours is older, as the serial numbers range from 26301 to 127100 between
1868 and 1875 for this model. ( Mine is # 108652 ) This may give you a rough estimate......

I can ask around at shows. I've sometimes seen older cylinders by themselves.
You probably aren't too worried about it being nickle or blue are you ?
I'll see what might turn up locally...............

You can try to call S&W Customer Service at :
    1 800 331 0852. then 7 ( extension # ? ) I got this number off the internet,
so I hope it's correct and functioning. They should be able to help with
the date at least, over the phone.

If you decide to get documentation from them, it may cost about $50.00 or so.

Please report and let us know how you made out !

    Regards, Steve.
