I used to own one of the earlier example 03's in much better overall condition than
both you've shown here, except that inside the barrel was completely worn out and looked
like it had been used for firing blanks. I did not own it very long.......

I must repeat what others have already said: there are better examples to be found,
- save your money. If either of these were half the asking price or less, then maybe, o.k.

Go to your local library or spend time on the net learning all you can about the
Springfield '03. There is a large format book and several reprinted army publications available.

There are also other sources to buy from, and you'll be happier with your money spent
on a truly excellent one .
