Most likely totally destroyed now, shame really.
    It is heartbreaking.

Off topic I know but as you mention legal vandalism of historical artifacts, sorry destruction I assisted with the destruction of some seized and surrendered pieces a few weeks back and had the unpleasant experience of seeing a Bren Mk1 being chopped into pieces.

One light moment was when the bugger didn't go quietly. It took a couple of attempts to chop through the receiver in the area of the barrel nut and it nearly broke the hydraulic cutter. That did make me smile.

They made 'em tough back then!!!

Back in the 1980s I was at our local flea market and one of the dealers
offered me a chance to by a 1930s vintage Thompson. It had the round
mags and was fully functional. It was just way to expensive for me at that time.

A very nice example... production of the M1928A1 finished in July 1942, and the new model - the M1 - started to replace it that same month.

    Cheers,
