Congrats man, that was a nice trade. Over here you can find live ones for I think about $400 or so. I know a lot of reenactors who have bought Universal Carbines and changed them to WWII specs.

Thanks guys. There was a second one there with a darker stock but didn't have a mag or bayo lug so that's why I chose this one. Though I could change it to WW2 spec I think I will leave it as is. I quite like the vented hand guard as well.
Over here it's certainly the closest I will get to a carbine so still very happy. Anyone have a good place to look for a sling, oiler and one of those ammo pouches that attaches to the butt?
Cheers
Jason
Hi Jason,
I can get some of that stuff at my local gunshop. I could send it over to you along w the Leningrad medal?
This place is also a pretty good source:
Northridge International Inc. / M1 CARBINE
As your rifle has been deactivated, how far can you field strip it? You need to be able to take the barreled receiver out of the stock in order to slide on the butt stock ammo pouch!
Cool Joe I will snd you a PM mate.
Jason
