    Hello
I picked up this Smith 2 days ago, when I got it home I noticed what looks like German Proofs on it! Its a matching rig but I put on different grips, because the ones that came wit it were rough. My question is has anyone seen a Victory Smith with German Proofs?

    Thank you
    Curt

Is it still a 38-200 or has it been modified to the 38 special?

I think the majority of the answers regarding this pistol and it's markings can be found here:

The marks are German commercial proof marks, nothing to do with German/Austrian Police use-my Finnish m/91 Mosin Nagant has similar marks-just means it went through a German dealer after being surplussed at some stage-pistol's over 70 years old now and has, as they say,' been around'.
