Wanted L1A1 deact in UK new spec

Made 1964 (1st 2 digits of the serial no. are the year made)-the foreguard is the early 'triangular' cross section type with 2 cooling slots each side-carrying handle is the later moulded plastic type instead of the turned wood handle. The deac SLRs here cost a small fortune-start at $3,000 AUD.

Cheers Lithgow, I was considering changing the carry handle for the wooden one, but Im not sure I can remove it that easily with the way its deactivated....Ill have a fiddle and see.

Oh no, don't change the plastic carry handle, your rifle is indeed one of the New Zealand rifles and the handle is the NZ pattern and is correct (But not original) for your rifle. I think that your rifle was part of the small batch for the New Zealand Air Force so I'd leave it as is.
