What is the difference between a akm and ak47

Where is the release button on the bayonet? The bayonet for my AK-47s has the release button under the muzzle ring. It locks into the ring cut into the muzzle attachment. Rich A. in Pa.

Thanks for all your help ! I love these Guns I know I'n the eyes of manny they are just a cheap mass produced shelf filer however I think they have a charm about them ! I want a solid stock a k47 and a folding stock type too

Are the folding stock types only produced by china ?
Is there a folding stock akm ?

The Soviets produced folding stock models-from the start of the 60s on their battle doctrine was based on using enclosed APCs (with limited space inside) as well as airborne forces in large numbers-both needed a more compact model-I never thought I'd hear someone describe an AK as "having charm"-for as Samuel L Jackson said in 'Jackie Brown' "AK47-When you have to kill every Mo Fo in the room...".

Thanks.It is neat. Here you can buy drum mags. I have Chinese made 75 and 100 round drums. The one in the pic is a South Korean copy 75 round drum. The mag and drum are full and work fine. Rich A. in Pa.

Ak-47s are actualy rare to find nowadays. When News reporters mention terrorists using AK-47s, the weapons are actualy AKMs and AKS's
