Allach values in general question
Most things, all areas, one knows what things should sell for plus/minus condition.
Was looking at 2 pieces of Allach and tried to get an idea what is a fair price to pay.
In the course of that found 2 items, each on 2 sites (both US).
On 1 site: $900. another $1800. Both mint, same country. Well known dealers.
2nd item: 1 site $550. another site $995. Well known dealers.
Is the WIDE variance "just how it is" with Allach compared to (other than 1 of or wild exotica) areas and items ?
Haven't a clue in researching what a "real" value is, obviously don't want to
pay twice what it's worth (not the items I just saw today and mentioned above).

Re: Allach values in general question
Can't answer your question regarding prices but I do know that Allach is going for much higher prices in Europe as opposed to the US. I have seen other types of Militaria with the same price swings as you mention regarding Allach with no rhyme nor reason. Just got to shop around.

Re: Allach values in general question
I wanted to get into allach but its too expensive. Mainly prices depend on what piece of allach it is. If its a candleholder it should go for a couple of hundred but if its one of the rarer more desirable types like the animals it will cost a lot more.
Cheers, Pat

Hi Pat,
Start with a candle holder or two that's how I started my collection.

Re: Allach values in general question
My ? is the great diversity for same thing, same country (here)
I'm opposite, hate the animals and figures (sorry)
vases, bowls and candle sticks are what I've looked at.
Living here (US) and forget for me at least buying from Europe as it seems to arrive in pieces, what do the more knowledgebale/active Allach collectors think of these prices:
1941 Julfest plate (flowers): $900 (I thought this high)
1943 Julfest plate (flowers): $750
vase #504: $550
vase #503: $550
vase #519: $1300
vase #500 (colored stripes): $1000
candelabra #23 (gilded): $1200

Re: Allach values in general question
Hi Mark,
The Julfest Pohl plates are priced less than the Himmler presentation Jule plates which run from 1200-1500. The Pohl plates seem to sell between 800-900. Kris @ Third Reich Arts has very fair prices IMO and is a good guy to do business with. In fact he has some nice candle holders for sale on his site now.
Best,
Erich
