Just now saw this - the DDAC is still going strong.

    The founding 'mothers' again

    DDAC
    DDAC |*Home

The last pre-war meeting of the DDAC was on 20. June 1939.

March 24. 1946 the DDAC started the club again.

The very fabric of the DDAC was torn apart by the TR who didnt permit some members interacting with others (-SCOUT):
The political upheaval of Nationalsocialism put an end to this. Not only was motor sports in any way, shape or form organized in a new German unified club, the NSKK, but heritage and political POVs of the members also made the old ways of the club impossible and made many of the ladies 'persona non grata' in the DDAC.

Juni 1939 in Karlsbad.

To this day my buddy still shakes his head.

I dont tell him, that it was pure dumb luck.

It literally had not entered my mind for decades.

Scout: Thanks for posting the information from the DDAC web site. That adds enormously to my store of worthless knowledge, as does the old name for the Michelin Man. Actually, bits and pieces on arcane subjects have a way of becoming useful at the right time. For example, I used to ask my students if they knew the origin of the expression, "lock, stock, and barrel," as in; He bought it all; "lock, stock, and barrel." Or the US Navy term "Head" meaning the Latrine, Privy, Loo, Jake and a host of other names for the same convience device. I'm glad you posted this thread. Dwight
