Here's my new 1..direct from son of US tank crew member who rescued him from a group of G.I.s that were mauling him with bayonets
Check cuts on his nose
Snapped off base and 2 bullet hits..
More than double lifesize
By famous sculptor Elmar Dietz..
From town in Ostreich..
Trying to get photo of vet..
Thanks
As to Hitlers head. My dad, Anthony F. DiSimone, 32713012 T43 44 O (military info to help identify) landed with his unit in Italy they came into Austria where my dad found the larger than life head (made out of gun metal) in a small town. It had been broken off its pedestel & other GIs were hacking it with their bayonets (several nicks on nose show this). He rescued it saying he wanted to use it for a "piss pot". Instead he put it at the bottom of his duffelbag upside down since head was hole. He was a tank repairman so luckily didn't have to carry the duffelbag manually. It has been in our possession ever since. More information not available

Hi guys
Another 1 I just won last night in a US Auction..
Unfortunately no story behind him
Jaw area and right temple crushed, slash marks to face and looks like letters scratched into face
99% sure it's a H.M.LEY although the signature area has been damaged.
1.5 lifesized..nice patina..
Will arrive soon ..
Cheers
Fraser
The busts with period damage are so much better, loads of history!
It must have taken some force to crush it though..
Hi
I agree
Just wish I knew its history..
Maybe a rifle butt would cause damage ??
The slash marks, crushed area has the same patina
So in my opinion, period done
Yes, a rifle butt would be a good suggestion for the damage
Never thought of that..
Can you show us the signature area mate?
Thanks for your comments
Hi
I don't have it yet mate
I based my opinion on it being a Ley by comparison to facial features, hair detail etc..something that caused heat damaged signature area
