Looks like your glass stein and my stein come from the same unit - my stein comes from a small float plane unit stationed on the Bug Peninsula on the island of Ruegen in the Baltic sea-

In the center of the shield on yours is depicted what looks like a bomb or torpedo.
On mine is an irregular green item. It's probably a depiction of a lake or island.
The ingraving on the lid mentions the Bug.
It translates to "You are leaving the ass of the world......NCO Corps Bug/Regiment"

Not the same unit but the same base - I think yours reflects the Island of Ruegen on the shield.

Heres a nice stein reflecting the city of the party rally "Nurenberg" with a lid - I have a number of Mugs(Without lid) with this motive - hard to find with a lid.

Erich - thanks for the comments -Yes, I know which ones really peak your interest but for me Nuernberg takes a special place as I was born there.
