Today the hobby has become a minefield for the new collector in all respects from trophies,medals,insignia,rings etc one needs to review militaria web sites such as this one to acquire some knowledge in respect to the item one is looking for.
Yes, reproductions if so advertised have a place in a collection especially with todays prices of original items-

Knowledge is your best investment in this hobby- It can't be bought, it demands effort...You have to familiarize yourself with the material you intend to collect/invest in...I knew it was a repro the moment I laid eyes on it -as I had owned an identical eagle myself-, the hard part was trying to convince the OP and the other guy that I knew what I was talking about, lol...
