Really there is nothing to prove. All the flight gear is American. Why would the Germans make a figure wearing US flight gear? They would not.
Just because you buy it cheap does not make it original. Fakes get made and sold all around the world.

He is simply wrong. Dealers make mistakes or just sell outright fakes.
If you wish it to be original you are free to think whatever you wish.....but you are doing yourself a disservice.

There is certainly enough evidence given in this thread to establish that this bust is a modern fake. No evidence has been given to establish an opinion that this is a period original piece. It is just more of the same old 4th Reich junk that litters the collector's market these days. It is always difficult when you discover that your "treasure" is actually a lump of coal. At one time or another, we have all experienced this.
