Happy New Year!!
I have been offered this but have not been able to find any on the Forum or via Google for comparison. It is in the Husken reference book, but I only have grainy shots of it which are of little help. The memorial medal looks to be of good enough quality to be period, but I would like to put it out for opinions please.

"The Homeland Thanks The Brave Soldiers" medal is original, it is not a fantasy table medal. However yours is unfortunately is a fake, originals are heavily silvered bronze and the details are far more crisp and embossed, the 1939 is also the incorrect size.

We'll be seeing a lot more of this type of thing. On E-bay recently,
I saw several dozen Third Reich tokens and coins with varied
designs - some which are direct copies of genuine articles.

I have also fallen victim to antique Chinese and Japanese
'silver' coins which are detailed fakes made of a metallic
resin-like material, but only realized they were bogus
after nearly $100.00 wasted, and some some quick
on-line research. One of the give-aways is a
painted-on 'patina' which will rub off
on your fingers.

Be careful out there.........!
