    I'd have thought it was just some sort of tourist trinket!....

    Yes, such items were made for tourists but Germans were also "tourists" in France 1940:-).

    Well, it's dated 1940...I'd say that these were indeed trinkets available for purchase during the Occupation...

    Neat item. My Grandma has a similar one from her uncle but it is for the Canadian army and has the places they liberated on it instead.

    Its quite small so I'm assuming it was made for woman! Couldn't really see a man wearing one!
