Very interesting work, thanks for posting the photos.
The 2019 excavation season of the German transition camp will start on July 1st and continue until July 19th.
The research got a headstart yesterday when an electrician working in a building reported a closed find of some 600-1000 German documents hidden in an air vent shaft for almost excactly 75 years!!
We are not yet fully aware of the full content. The documents relate to II Geb. Rgt 206 and offer a rae glimpse into the reality of this unit between May and June 1944. We will start photodocumenting the find as soon as possible. I will show highlights of our finds here as soon as the find has made public here in Finland.
The find is an important addition to my doctoral dissertation of the camp which will be published in late 2022.
Photographed here are also some pictures (including an X-ray) from a name tag for a soldier in SS Nord named "Peter". Sadly further research of this one soldier is deemed almost impossible.
