German U-Boat Art (Oil Paintings)
I've notice some very good U-boat paintings over the years—from various German era artist.
Here is one I picked up the other day certainly a post war copy—but a very good display piece anyway.

Yes, it is a very dramatic image. The colors are very striking. Who ever did this painting certainly knew what they were doing.

A nice painting - very well done.
Is it actually oil paint or might it be acrylic.........?

Ss-215 / 1943
Here is another oil painting I picked up yesterday. It's not a German U-boat but of a 40's US Sub. The painting (I think) is a very good reproduction of an original painting of the USS Growler (SS-215).

I'd love a copy of the U Boot painting!...

Not WW2 but a copy of a Claus Bergen print titled "Cruise of U53" . U53 was commanded by Hans Rose. Rose was a highly successful U-Boat commander in WW1. I found this in an antique mall about 10 years ago.

Now that was a nice find Hagan. what is the size of the painting?

Quote -passerby- I also have a great print of "Cruise of U-53". Print is 16 X 20 and originated from a "collection of artist" in Lenggries, Germany. Three other war prints were bought at auction several yrs ago also by Claus Bergen.
