Odd that these survived the war. After all, Karinhalle was blown up then taken over by the Soviets, I can't imagine too many victorious Soviet troops collecting cigars without smoking or trading them for other goodies.

Seems that 2 boxes are just ordinary cigars?
Without rock solid proof they are just some boxes of dry cigars that could have been anybody's.
Could even be Monica Lewinsky's.
I have seen several boxes of Goring cigars on the market over the years. The boxes were personalized with Goring's name as were the ones in the auction. I do not know if it was the same box or several different ones. If these inded came fron Carinhalle, it is likely they were traded to a British soldier by a Russian.
