I discovered that it was auctioned in 2014 by GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAYANA AUCTIONS, in case it is helpful.
Railwayana Auctions - GNRA
I see you have Mr Saris's book ( all the photos ) ,so you should be able to see the difference . I don't know how you got the info on that auction as I can't pull up any 5yr old auctions there . Hopefully no one lost a bunch of money on this reproduction . The makers mark looks like it was put on after it was misted with canned black spray paint . Once again is this your eagle or are you buying ? Just trying to show you what I see .
By the way it is aluminum not bronze .

Hello,
here we have an original bronze Kriegsmarine eagle for comparison.
Best, Thomas
Hello Thomas , very impressive bird thank you for showing . Can we please have more pictures from all angles and of the back for future reference ? Can you give some measurements also ? I'll bet that it is very heavy being bronze . Are there any foundry marks ?
The OP eagle looks fake to me, the stamp was done over black spray paint, the mounting lugs are smooth and not tapped to except a bolt.
Great conversation piece, but not an original item.
I wonder how much it went for?
