Joe - I got this plaque some 20+ years ago from the son, I should have asked questions at that time but I didnt as I had no idea at the time of what it was.
Thanks for the heads up on the Alte Garde books etc will have to keep an eye open.

Are you sure the plaque was presented by AH? Per the wording, it likely was presented as a gift to Alten Garde members during one of their publicized tours through Germany. During ceremonies in different Gaus and cities they were presented with small gifts like this--cigarette cases, lighters, plates, books, etc. What I haven't been able to determine is how was it decided who was a member of the A.G.? Gold Party Badge holders? Gau Ehrenzeichen holders? The earliest continuous Party members? In period books they're referred to as the AG but I haven't run across a more detailed description.

Erich - Presented could mean a number of things - as per the son it was awarded to his father under the sanction of A.H., could have been presented via the local Party Leader be it Political Leader, SA Leader etc , who knows??? Would have to conduct more research if available. Let me know if you tap on any information relative to these in the future and I will do also.
Danke

Will do.

Found this info in one of Ulrich of England old sales ads" Gau Dusseldorf Plaque, presented by Hitler to 500 of the oldest serving members of the NSDAP each being the bearer of the Golden Party Badge". This is in line as to what the son of the awardee told me when he gave the plaque to me along with an old Deutschland Erwacht cig. card album which still had Rohm in it.

Even better! I've only seen 2 or 3 of these over many many years. Of the original 500, it's likely only a handful still exist. Super!
