From the pictures it looks like a nice period bust - are there any maker marks on the lower back?

what marks would be on this type of bust ?
it certainly looks a good one.
Bad one IMO. The casting quality, even on smaller busts, was always better than this. The bottom edge is rough, there are casting pits and the seam filing is not well done, one ear is deformed, the patina is artificial and uneven, and the base, which looks like it was originally from some sort of pen or pencil holder, looks like alabaster instead of marble or granite.

I agree with Erich. This item is on Ebay at the moment and the seller isn't giving any guarantees either. Although 2 bidders have raised it to £45. Definitely looks like it has had something spilled over it to give it an aged appearance.
Mark.
The problem is the piece is bronze and would mean most probably early, when you go early the quality is generally better than late. Here you have a piece that does not belong on this base and attached later and appears to be glued on from the photos. Its post war I think and the pimpled eyes are never a good sign, the base is bad for the piece and the quality is not there for what would be an early piece of propaganda. Its not working for me either.
Waist of bronze.
