Article about: I have seen this for sale, and whilst it is outside my budget I thought you might like to see it. I am assuming it is not a modern copy!!

    Here's mine which I bought a few years ago, I would never sell this one. Bought in Germany from the widow of the guy that won it. She said she could remember most of the names on the side!!

    I thought such steins were mementos of service for when a soldier de-mobbed, not prizes?

    Glenn - more or less your right - there are steins/mugs that were given out as prizes, Weihnachten(Christmas), etc also during the period
