Correct.
At the outbreak of the war, Hitler donned a feld grau uniform with sleeve eagle to reflect his status as Head of the Armed Forces.
To quote him:
“I am from now on just the first soldier of the German Reich. I have once more put on that coat that was most sacred and dear to me. I will not take it off again until victory is secured, or I will not survive the outcome.”

yeah this thing was probably painted around '35.
there are paintings by the guy of Hitler from, like I said, mid to late 30s in this same political uniform.
i have not seen a portrait by this artist of Hitler wearing anything else.
gimme a minute. i'll find another painting by this guy.
