Here is one of the last German die's I still have in the collection.
Not sure it is WWII, the die form makes me think it could be WWI....
Just never knew for what purpose it was made! Clearly a number had to be add to every item wearing thise ID tag, but on what was it put on??
I am pretty sure it is not to be put on a weapon or vehicle, it has to do with money and a association .....
Was it a tag for spoils of war....?
    cheers

So Wiznitz is a place in Roumania and was part of Germany before and during WW I.
They might have had a saving bank by that name, but what was the tag for, is the question that remains.
    Thanks for the link!

Yes, a kind of credit institute - you need to be a member - sometimes usual here in germany.

I think the die that you have is to emboss/stamp documents/contracts.

Possible, but then there must be a counter die and why was the thise die still in a factory that made metal embossed items....
Still more questions to be filled in!
    Thanks for your input!
