Now residing in the UK, this little lantern now has new ownership.
Going to look at the possibility of replacing the warped panels, hopefully some one can replicate the pattern on the purple panels.
I think plain purple wouldn't do it justice, but... one can only try.
Hard to picture in the dark

I would suggest measuring up one on the intact panels and then either Photoshop or Indesign app to make up 1:1 scale design and then print onto acetate and cut accordingly?
I've been sent some pictures of it's type, for sale, in a early nineteen thirties catalogue.
These were just cheap and affordable party supporter/patriotic items.
They were officially banned as NAZI KITSCH (TAT) in 1933 for cheapening the party symbols.
Also, it's period proof, to show that these lanterns did actually exist.
I thought you might like to see how you could buy them.
Really neat piece! I just saw two of the lanterns for sale on a web site. I saw the two on the upper left corner of the first ad. The collapsible one and the round one. Pretty interesting pieces. Make s a nice display item
