Article about: very nice piece. my understanding of things like this , they are called desk medals. used as paper weights as i understand it. if the owner wanted to. i use to have one for ausland. service

    Andrew, my badge is small and light weight made of an alloy so it's a non portable award rather than a larger desk medal that you speak of.

    I would presume this is a non portable version of a tinnie issued to commemorate the event. Likely very few of these were made. Likely also given to the Gauleiter. A very interesting item with history attached.

    Hi Bob, I agree that there was only a few of these non portables made to be given to certain Gau VIP's. This the 1st one of it's kind that I have seen to date. Best, Erich
