That's O.K., don't worry about it as long as you know now.

I actually have 'Heraldry & Regalia Of War' - I will post a photo of the plaque
from the book when I am able.
I do believe it is original, but no, I wouldn't pay the asking price
that has been mentioned. This plaque is only slightly smaller
than a postcard - not that size has anything to do with
price, said the gigolo - I just do not think it is worth
that kind of dough..........

Personally, I think this sign looks almost too nice of condition for it's age. I would have expected to see perhaps, a wee bit of color fading and a few signs of age such as edge marks, light scratching, etc. The mounting holes show almost no traces of bolt heads being tightened in them. If it Is genuine, then it almost certainly must never have been hung or used.

Here is the book - and the page displaying the plaque, which looks unused as well.
This first edition was published in 1973.
The caption reads:
'Enamel plaque ( With us ) fixed on houses, vehicles, etc, of party members.'

Hello,
I also have the same plaque with the same markings as the one originally shown on the thread. My plaque is quite small, 2 1/4 inches by 1 and 1/2 inch.
I have attached a pic of mine. Nice little original items I think. I also have a picture of this plaque as shown in a magazine. I will see if I can find the magazine, I believe it is a different magazine than shown here.
