Thanks Horst, most likely going to be difficult to put a name to him.

Re: NCO's Portarit
A nice painting, but I'm afraid putting a name on an unknown junior NCO will be next to impossible.

Re: NCO's Portarit
I am in a similar position with this painting in my collection:

It would be great to put a name to him, but it is highly unlikely to happen.
Cheers, Ade.

Who was the artist that painted yours?

Re: NCO's Portarit
Hi Ade,
The name is Maiburg 1944, I don't own it as yet. I was trying to do some background work on it before I make an offer on it.
As someone else has pointed out, putting a name to him may well be nigh on impossible.

Re: NCO's Portarit
1944 is quite a late date for a portrait of a soldier of the Afrikakorps: I wonder now if it was done to commemorate a fallen son or husband?
I think it is a super item.
Cheers, Ade.
