Need Help! Germany crucifix
Hi,
Yesterday i was going through stuff from my grandmother who passed away a couple of years ago.
It's no news that she served in the Finnish army during the winter war 1939/1940 and then the continuation war 1941/1944 both in Hangö and Russia
But when i went trough a box I've found a cross wrapped together with a plaque, the plaque is marked with her name and a year (1942)and the place (Hangö)
Hangö 1942 was a transit area for German troops going in and out from leave.
So my basic question is, what's the story about those crosses, I've found some information on Google but maybe some one in here could shed some additional light on it?
Thanks in advance
Br
Daniel
