It was not printed as where big ned says: The 'Schwabischer Beobachter' was a German language newspaper
printed in Petrovgrad, Serbia from 1934 and throughout the war.

I apologise if the information I gave was incorrect, but I was working from this:

No problem. We cannot know all. I took my information from the German archive,
Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Preussischer Kulturbesitz. They have this in their database:


Titel: Schwäbischer Beobachter : Illergau-Zeitung ; Babenhauser Tagblatt ; Rothtal-Bote ; Schwäbischer Generalanzeiger ;
Amtsblatt der NSDAP und sämtlicher Behörden im Kreis und Amtsbezirk Illertissen-Babenhausen
Erschienen: Memmingen : Dr. und Verl.-Genossenschaft "Allgäuer Beobachter"
Erscheinungsverlauf: 1.1936 - 7.1942

Beilage ---> Schwäbischer Bilderbogen. So they also had an additional paper (Beilage) with photographs.

Maybe your information is correct, but this is then the area as you mentioned. Maybe they have had a newspaper with the
same name, for those they called: Donauschwaben. The signboard shown, however is for a south-German newspaper.

It appears that this must then have been the case, as the photo's below show that the newspaper I alluded to was printed in Petrovgrad for the 'Donauschwaben' readership of that region. It says this imeadiately below the title banner.

I've tried to zoom it in a bit more, but the resolution has suffered somewhat. It is though, still legible (just) I think.
