I think that the slightly different styles of eagle are manufacturers variants and really no more than that.

The first one though is a style of NSKK eagle favoured by Assmann, although both styles are favoured by the fakers !!!

Absolutely no idea when the buckle was first introduced or why it was introduced (why should the NSKK be excluded from having an organisation specific buckle ?), although possibly by a few manufacturers with a very short production run.

I know that we are veering toward belt buckle talk, however attached is another NSKK eagle found on a fantasy NSKK buckle.
