The decorations on the ribbon bar are, from left to right:
- Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse [Iron Cross 2nd Class] of 1914 (for WW1, Prussia)
- Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern [War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords] (for WW2, Third Reich)
- Albrechtsorden, Ritterkreuz mit Schwertern [Albrecht Order, Knight's Cross with Swords] (1st or 2nd Class) (for WW1, Saxony)
- Friedrich-August-Medaille am Kriegsband [Friedrich August Medal on the War Ribbon] (silver or bronze grade) (for WW1, Saxony)
- Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer [Honor Cross for Combatants] (for WW1, Third Reich)
The pinback decoration is the WW1 Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz [Wound Badge in Black], i.e. the grade for those wounded 1 to 2 times.
Judging from the presence of WW1- and WW2-era decorations together with a complete lack of any long-service awards, this man was most likely a re-activated or reserve officer.
