No, I don't ride. But count me as one of those seduced by the noble beast when we purchased one for our daughter to ride. As I was told, buying the horse is the cheapest part. It's the paddock fees and all the rest that send you to the poor house.
I only had an Armee Sattel M25 (like Horst's) that was used by the Gendarmerie, along with Heer bridle and saddle accessories like bags. The Schutzpolizei had their own design of saddle for their mounted unit along with all the accessories.
Very nice blanket! Can't say that they're anything but fairly rare to find! And in Great shape! The horse in the photo doesn't look too thrilled, though.. William
