Pre-III Reich Weimar Republic
Heres a couple utensils you dont see often, a knife and spoon from the Weimar Republic 1919 - 1933 - the items are both from the period navy with the "M"(Marine) on the grip and the Weimar Repbulic eagle - both items are maker marked and dated. Interesting to note that both are dated into the III Reich, spoon 36 & knife 1935 indicating that the Weimar eagle was still being used at this time also.Guess as they say the Navy was reluctant to change.

Very nice set you have there! I like flatware and place settings in a collection also. Without food, there's no energy to fight!

Re: Pre-III Reich Weimar Republic
This is most certainly not something one sees everyday, and as I am very interested in the "Weimar Republic", I find it a splendid and rather nice addition to any collection concerning this period. If you could find a fork as well, that would really complete the set - not sure though how easy that would be to find.

Re: Pre-III Reich Weimar Republic
Very nice Horst, an unusual set of mess ware, though you do seem to have a lot of interesting items from this area of collecting.

Re: Pre-III Reich Weimar Republic
Thanks one and all for the comments - Yes Weimar is not all that easy to find as it didnt last a very long time and the Military was reduced to 100,000 -.
Am down sizing my utensil collection to make room for Political Leader etc Regalia, if anyone is interested please let me know.
