Default RAUCHEN VERBOTEN - NO SMOKING Sign

    Hi Guys,

I bought this sign few months ago. The seller said this came from the former Boehn-Kaserne barracks. There is stamp with a date (1943), and code (AYZ 305? ) Both sides have the same text. I can not find anything on the internet about that. I think this is not a WW2 issued sign.(Anyway, it does very decorativ.) What do you think?
Letters look like painted by hand, size approx 100 cm long x 40 cm x 1.5 mm thick.

    Thx

first of all - nice Nike sandal

as to the sign - not to keen on it - probably post-war piece spiced a little to be WWII.

    wait for the experts !

I'm no expert, but this looks period pre-1945 to me. Perhaps the sign was used beyond the war too with the eagle and swastika rubbed off.
    Nice lookking sign anyway.

Yes, the seller said the sign was hanging out till end of 70. That is why missing the swastika.

I would have to agree with the above - the eagle looks like a Heer eagle with some kind of a code below - to me this is a post 45 item enhanced to look period.
