Have never found any indicarion for a real existance of this type
during my research for the enameled sign book. Traces of use are
easy to make!
And if one found before the finishing of the book (the book was
released 2009) maybe I would have included it, but then surely
with the remark: questionable!
FB: I am no wizzard, just a person who had done some years of
research before making the book. The RZM signs are covered
page 73, 74 and 75. I think they created the round one from the
RZM marking, shown with the scare and rectangelur signs.
With that the "M" is short!!
The RZM-indication as shown with original enameled signs:
Political signs should have an RZM indication at the reverse,
but not always this was done. Here some samples of such
indications:
Hope this helps in some ways (with the "M"). And yes the
letter may have been longer occasionally. There are always
variations!
There you have it! The wizard has spoken and glad we are that he so generously shares his wisdom with us.
I think the round one is a stinker.

I also think that the square RZM signs are faked, too, in fact. I should enclose what I think is such a fake.
I found mine in Wittenberg, Sachsen Anhalt with a favorite militaria dealer of mine. Mine is covered with hats.
I have too much of this junk, really.
Win's metal sign book is a great work of regalia literature. Buy it and read it, and do so often.
May I say that one can read Wim's books often, which is almost never the case with other regalia books.
Wim is a fine stylist, who can make the issues of this material lively and exciting.
This is high praise, since many of the other books are painful to read even once.
I would tend to agree with FB and Wim's scepticism about the circular sign.
The official "RZM" mark was used for very specific purposes and under very strict regulations.
Allowing its use in the form of a standalone symbol on an "advertising sign" for retail shops would have been a very odd thing and totally out of line with the practices of the day.
This I said in post 14: "Hope this helps in some ways (with the "M"). There are always variations!"
I bet that within a while the fakers will adapt the letter to RZM standards in hope one will buy the new version fake!!
Forums tell fakers to much and often about how it should be........
