I'd be careful with that one - even though this seller seems to have a lot of pretty good things.
Let's make a comparison with that other one I found. The plaque you show lacks some details (font, eagle's head and plumage, stripes on the white letters, colour...) that make the one I show a lot more believable.
I don't think - but I may be wrong - such plaques had "variants" ; I would let that go out of my sight if I were you.
Upsetting to see that fakers are evil-minded to the point that they corroded it in order to make it look like a time traveller and diddle people...
Closer photos of the damage areas would help but to me these areas look fairly recently made. I would expect much more degradation of the steel and darker rust stains after 75 years plus.
I agree with the above post, it is a shame what lengths people go to for a quick profit. It is amazing what can be done with a a pair of pliers, a little peroxide and some white vinegar.
