That is what I tought; the cover doesn't fit the tureen. It seems even the color does not match. If they had a cover (wich I doubt!) they would come with a different handle.

I'm not sure,they're an item. Stuka could be right,the lid looks a different colour only slightly. It could just be the pics though. Stewy

not at all!!
But there are gaps between the cover and the tereen, that is not -done.
Thise does not affect the tereen in anyway, as I still think they come with out a cover.

They are simply called" lions head terrine" and when you take a look on google you 'll find out they do come (mostly) with out top.

It also strikes me weird that the lid has an elaborate pattern. But the bowl's plain other than the handles or heads whichever you like. I would've thought the pattern would also appear on the bowl. Stewy

I couldn't tell. It all depends on the marks it gots I think. There is a collector I know (from the net) I could ask it to. Or I could put you in contact with , but I am afraid he only speaks French.
