Man's surname is I.M.O:Veihslin
woman's is I.M.O:Anna Mujvakna born von der Rey
Major name is I.M.O:Gerhoff
That's all I can do for you at this moment.
Some names are for sure: Veihslin , Anna , von der Rey ,Gerhoff
Sorry, but no:
The woman's name is Anna Magdalena, neé von der Bey. (I can't make out the word after "Frau" and before "Anna" though.)
The name at the bottom looks more like "Lerhoff" to me. It is not the mayor, by the way, but the registrar (=Standesbeamter), acting on behalf of the lord mayor.
The husband's surname is giving me a hard time; don't think it is Veihslin, though - That's just not a German name. His Christian names are Heinrich Christian Friedrich and he was a teacher ("ranked" Studienrat).

Hi Dan, therein lies the problem with these. No period evidence to support them has ever been forthcoming....
Cheers, Ade.

Ade,
There is no period evidence to support a lot of things.
Best,

Hi Kris, indeed, not saying these are bad. But it would be nice to know more about them. With Himmler's obession with tiny details it is just odd that these have not been found documented somewhere.
Cheers, Ade.

Ade,
I agree, it is always nice to know what things are and their purpose. I have one in my gallery that I have as a wedding cask and I cannot be certain that is what it was for.
There has been some doubters over this issue with the argument being no period photo, I just think that is placing some kind of standard for use in whether a piece is right or wrong.
A couple of these have been vet acquired, mine was from the son and grandson of a vet and they are what they are. I think sometimes you just have to look at the piece overall and give it a sniff and rub and make a decision. While not exactly scientific, sometimes that is all the market and history allow us.
Kind Regards,
Kris Lindblom

Hi Guys
This is an acquisition from a recent auction of a defunct private museum.
It is a SS wedding presentation copy of Mein Kampf.
I need help on translation of the inscription in front of the book.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to render.
Best,
Paul
Hi Paul,

This is not the book that belongs in the box, because it was given to a Studienrat. That's a teacher with a degree.

So are you going to show it on your web page ? I am always so disappointed when I see only those 2 plates in the Wooden Objects section !
