Re: swastika bulb ...any info on these
I have seen similar period light bulbs before, however, the ones that I have seen have been the normal light bulb shape. The one thing that the Nazi's were good at was propaganda andthis is a propaganda piece for the home. I have seen period paper swastika lampshades, you'll have to keep an eye out for one!

Pat when the bulb is turned on the swastika glows. This kind of bulb was popular in the 30's and 40's I have seen them with old cartoon's. Popeye was very popular .can't tell you if this one is real.

Re: swastika bulb ...any info on these
There was a guy selling these on eBay earlier this year. They were sold as modern 'novelty' items!

I would get an old Bakelite lamp holder and mount that on a wooden plinth.

Agree with Ade wholeheartedly! Search ebay for Bakelite lamps. Loads of options

What does it say on the side?Kris.
I think it says: 'National 220....'
It looks like modern glass and filament to me, but it is unusual
in that it has a socket base, and not the threaded
screw-in type like we normally see.........
