I have been working on getting together with another collector to both show and handle some pretty serious pieces. This came through today and is a dedication piece for a Pentathalon. sic.

Its a signed piece and extraordinary.

Kris -- Guess I was right in my assumption that it was a Reichs Sportverein Eagle -
The dedication reads(more or less):
Honorary Prize dedicated by the Reichs Sport Leader Von Tschammer & Osten, Reichs Open Modern 5 bout, Wuensdorf & the date.

The eagle does represent the emblem for the DRL(Deutschen Reichbundes fur Leibesubung) of which Von Tschammer & Osten was the Reichssportfuhrer - the DRL was established Jan 1936, headquartered in Berlin "Haus des Deutschen Sports" .
The "Modern Funfkampf" consisted of: 5000m horse riding with hurdles
Fencing
Shooting with a pistol at 25m
Swimming 300m
Track 4000m run
