Totenkopf beer stein

I collect pre-war German steins and I believe this one to date from around 1900. That pewter thumb lift is perfect for the period, as it its patina. I have dozens of steins from the same era that have pewter that looks very much like that. This particular stein has lost some of the paint off its side (not all were glazed in super high quality), most likely from being shoved in a box or on a shelf next to other steins for many years. The quality isn't quite as high as some other skull steins I've seen, but this is by no means "cheap $hit"
