    Gday all,

This item is comin to me through my extended family in wales, The Gentlemen was in the british Armed forces and a glider pilot during Arnhem...They are sending it to me as they know I will look after it...

He is well in his 90s now, so is a little confused as to where he picked it up, all he knows is it came from Germany...

Any help would be appreciated, so I am able to tell the family what the item is...

    many thanks

It is a 19th century furniture ornament, ment to be put on a draw, probably a desk. The holes are ment to fit the handle!

I have been searching every possible country and not found one like it, I know he was a glider pilot, British and part of one of the glider regiments, just got a photo thru of the old gent in his airborne beret.....it could be just an ornament or part of some bodies coat of arms, but he definitely bought it back....

Will check the polish angle again.....thanks for your input

It doesn't even represent a particular historical or coat of arms eagle, it is just a fantasy eagle!
Not saying thise to be denigrated in any way, just want to help you get your feet back on to the ground. ;-)
BUT it is a original time piece!
