Hopefully, that one is safe as it is
a) from the sixties.
b) the German version of The Ballad of the Green Berets (from which it takes its melody only; the text is 100 % different).
c) basically, an anti-war song about the soldiers' loneliness, hardships and suffering in a war whose purpose they seem to question.
Still, it is quite gripping, especially in this, my favorite, recording:

Yes that is the best version I was able to find too but didn't use that clip to avoid confusion as it really does sound like it could be from an earlier period
