Bahnschutz (Railway Protection Police) any role in the holocaust?

I bought a hat thats a visor for the bahnschutz police and always wondered...what was their role in the holocaust?

Any a quick overall history of it...

As for your question regarding the Bahnschutz and their involvment during the holocaust, well they were often as feared as the Gestapo by jews and suchlike in occupied countries such as Poland and the Russian states that's for sure. They specialised in not only organising the transport and guarding of people to the camps, but actively hunting them down in the ghetto's and countryside of nations that the Reich had conquered, and summilary executing them on the spot. Here's just a common example of how they worked, with or without the Gestapo, but both with the same remit.
