    O.K., thanks for the pic's, that looks a really good genuine Erel cap.

    As for your question regarding the Bahnschutz and their involvment during the holocaust, well they were often as feared as the Gestapo by jews and suchlike in occupied countries such as Poland and the Russian states that's for sure. They specialised in not only organising the transport and guarding of people to the camps, but actively hunting them down in the ghetto's and countryside of nations that the Reich had conquered, and summilary executing them on the spot. Here's just a common example of how they worked, with or without the Gestapo, but both with the same remit.

    As Ned has already pointed out, the railway police did more than "look after the trains". Their dirty work is often overlooked. Excellent link Ned.

    Thanks guys! So on the hat, just wondering how much they run for? I got this from a guy whos grandmother had it stored away and had no clue what it was.
