Feldlazaette 11 porchow ostfront
Ok this is way out of left field.
Just got some info from Germany. My great uncle died at 0400 on 17 July 1941 on the railway platform at feldlazarete 11 in porchow near east Prussia. The info also includes the fact he was buried on the western side of a sports field near the hospital in a military cemetery.
I was most impressed at the detail of the info.
Does anyone here study, specialize in field hospitals?????
It's a big ask, but if you don't ask you never know

Good grief, you can't leave us hanging like that. Do you know any more particulars about your uncle. What division he was in, where he started, or ultimately how he was killed. Don't want to get your thread off track, but enquiring minds want to know.
Thanks,
Jay

Re: Feldlazaette 11 porchow ostfront
Family history says he was leading a small skirmish up a hill as section commander, and was shot in the thigh by a poison tipped bullet. At least th record states that he was shot in th upper thigh, so one part of the story is correct, and his rank, would also prove he was a leader of soldiers
