One thing that most of us tend forget; many books are now valuable and out of print. Have you got these covered by your insurance? I suspect not...... it soon mounts up. With the average cost of any good book being around £50 + there is a lot of money invested here. Make sure you have got cover
Im glad that you mentioned that Ade, because a lot of my books ARE out of print and, effectively irreplaceable. (Note to self to check house contents insurance!)
I have always been an avid reader of anything that takes my fancy, whether it is fact or fiction, and have been collecting them for a long as I can remember. I have book in my collection that I have bought, or had bought dating back over 40 years and that is NOT including the older ones thatI have seen and bought myself or had bought for me. The oldest book in my collection is well over 100 years old and was given to me by my gran, (not military related) and is irreplaceable.
